Protocols For Locked Down Hunter Region

By GRNSW
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) wishes to advise all participants of new restrictions following the announcement from the NSW Premier this morning, that local government areas in the Hunter Valley will be in lockdown for seven days from 5pm today.

As GRNSW have done with the Greater Sydney lockdown, and imposed a zone (Zone 1) for those who are in lockdown, and a zone (Zone 2) for those outside the lockdown region, from 5pm today, GRNSW will deem those in the local government areas of Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, CESSNOCK, Dungog, Singleton and Muswellbrook, as a separate zone – Zone 3.

From today at 5pm, for the next seven days, participants in Zone 3, will only be permitted to race at venues within their zone - Maitland and LADBROKES GARDENS.

The fields had already been drawn for the race meetings scheduled for Friday, August 6 and Saturday August 7 at LADBROKES GARDENS, and these two meetings will go ahead as scheduled, however, any participants who reside outside what is now Zone 3, will not be permitted to compete at these meetings.

The Maitland meeting for Monday, August 9, had not been drawn prior to the NSW Premier’s announcement, and as such no participants outside of Zone 3 were drawn in that meeting. It will now be drawn Friday, August 6, with nominations closing at 8am.

The Wauchope meeting on Saturday, August 7, will go ahead, but any participants who now reside in the locked down Hunter LGAs will not be permitted to attend or compete.
