About Us

Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) is a body corporate charged with providing strategic direction and leadership in the development, integrity and welfare of greyhound racing in NSW.

GRNSW - along with the Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC) - are the peak bodies of the sport. GRNSW is responsible for ensuring the competitiveness and long-term commercial viability of greyhound racing for the benefit of participants, business partners and the community.

From July 1, 2018 when they became operational, GWIC assumed responsibility for the regulatory side of the sport. GRNSW is now responsible for the commercial side of greyhound racing in NSW, with core business units in: Operations, Commercial and Marketing, Wagering Media and Content and Education and Welfare.

The vision for the organisation is to be Australia’s premier supplier of greyhound racing, delivering an attractive and innovative wagering product, and for a greyhound racing industry in New South Wales that is embraced as socially responsible, world leading racing entertainment. The GRNSW Strategic Plan 2018-2021 sets out the organisation’s strategy to realise the vision.

The Strategic Plan is built around three pillars - Responsible, Competitive, Sustainable - underpinned by 21 initiatives that have been developed to achieve the highest standards of animal welfare in racing, achieve commercial growth and ensure that the industry continues to make an important contribution to the communities it operates in.

Animal welfare remains a core priority for GRNSW and is central to its strategy for moving the industry forward.
