The first Derby heat looks to be a tricky affair with only limited genuine early pace. The classy RITZA ROSSI (8) can be tardy but can handle wide draws and races well at Richmond he's top pick. The danger is likely to be LA GRAND LOGIE (3) who does have pace and could be hard to catch. Other hopes are JOHNNY MAGIC (1) and COBBER IN MOTION (2).
