Welcome to GRNSW’s Racing Week Ahead where we update participants with our upcoming events for the following week, highlighting several of those events for which nominations close over the next seven days.
The huge month of racing in the regions continues with the Mega Month of Regional Racing and more than $1 million in prizemoney on offer just in feature events around the State.
The spotlight will be on LADBROKES GARDENS this week with The Ladbrokes 715 final on June 11, and also as we get closer to the culmination of the world’s richest short-course event The Thunderbolt at Grafton on June 19. Semi-finals of that event will be held on June 11 also
But there’s still a lot of great feature events big and small, scheduled for this week around the State.
We’ll start with Wentworth Park on Wednesday June 8 and 1-3 win 5th grade heats over the 520m with a $6,000 final.
Moving ahead to Saturday June 11 and the Richmond Straight will host maiden heats with a $1,500 Final.
At The Gardens on Saturday June 11 - their big 715 card - the club also has 600m non-grade Best 8 (any grade) with $10,000 to the winner, non-grade (1/2/3/4th grades) over the 515m which is $7,000 to the winner and over the 400m, a non-grade (1/2/3/4th grades) with $3,000 to the winner.
Grafton will host those Thunderbolt semi-finals on Saturday June 11 which leads to a massive $75,000 to the winner final.
Another big highlight this week will be a strong card at Gunnedah on Sunday June 12 which will feature the Chief Havoc Cup final.
On Monday June 13 Nowra has a 630m non-grade (any grade) race worth $5,000 to the winner.
And finally on Tuesday June 14 Gosford has 1-3 win 5th grade heats over the 388m with a $4,500 final, and on the same night Grafton has 5th grade heats over the 350m with a $2,000 final.
