Reg’s Chance To Atone For Last Start Defeat

Outstanding prospect Reg’s Chance was beaten for the first time at Wagga on December 17 yet punters who sided with the son of Orson Allen will be sticking with him for start five on Friday.

The Jack Roy-prepared youngster again travels to Wagga and has drawn perfectly near the inside (box two).

Last time, Reg’s Chance dwelt from box five but soon angled to the inside to trail Firebrand Izmir and (eventual winner) Noel's Desire mid-race but was unable to bridge the gap and went down by just under two lengths in a solid 18.34.

Previously, Reg’s Chance has twice won at Wagga in a smart 18.23 and come Race 10, he will be anchoring many ‘Christmas cheer’ wagers.

The company he meets is quite ‘thin’ and only bad luck will prevent the Wallendbeen-based youngster from winning again. He’s a genuine talent and headed for higher honours.

Earlier, Lorraine Roy’s Choice Chance – a half sister to Reg’s Chance – is the one to beat in the night’s top grade 400m sprint, Race Seven.

Choice Chance has posted 10 of her 19 career wins at Wagga with the best of her three at Friday’s 400m trip a sizzling 22.60.

Elsewhere, Choice Chance has won at Bathurst over 307m in a fast 17.45, a near record 18.67 at Temora (330m) and in 19.70 over 350m at Goulburn.

On December 17, she landed in the lead from box four but was outpaced by Oliver Izmir in the run to the turn yet maintained the inside running.

Late, she rallied to score by a half length in 18.39 and is ideally placed in box two.
