Another Exciting Contest Looms At Dapto

By Peter Davis
Chase Me Honey’s clash with Angel Glow at Dapto on September 9 was engaging, and another compelling clash – this time with Special Blend – highlights the 12-race card at the Showgrounds track on Thursday.

GRNSW’s Middle Distance series, offering $5,000 to the winner, has regularly attracted the best up and coming staying prospects in NSW, and Chase Me Honey’s experience at 600m provides an edge over Special Blend.

In her 34.38s win over Angel Glow, Chase Me Honey quickly led from the rails alley but that’s the likely role of Special Blend this time.

Special Blend was dominant in a fast 29.77s win over 520m at Dapto on September 9, with her 12.48s final section particularly strong – certainly pointing to the prospect of 600m being a natural progression.

Both girls are very good beginners and it will be “game on” from box-rise.

Just over 20 minutes later, Cop Magnet faces a smart lineup in the night’s Free For All Sprint. He’s posted two slick wins at Bulli over 472m since his last Dapto outing – a game third to the in-form Ritza Tommy in 29.90s on September 4.

As a quick beginner, Cop Magnet will have no issues handling box seven but there is a depth of quality midst his opposition.

Where’s Rocky (Box 4) boasts seven wins from only 12 starts and has missed a place only once in his career while Mark Gatt's Hudson Road (Box 5) has saluted in four of six tries at the track including a smart 29.69s win on August 26.

The first race at Dapto is scheduled for 6.53pm.
