Sweet It Is One Of Many Gifts On Saturday Night

Australia's best stayer Sweet It Is will be joined by some of the best sprinters in the country in a terrific night of racing at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Sweet It Is (pictured) will likely start a prohibitive favourite in the Group 3 Schweppes Summer Cup (720m), where she will jump from box two.

The Darren McDonald-trained superstar qualified for the final with a brilliant heat win in which she ran 41.55 - 0.02 outside of Xylia Allen's track record.

A win in the Summer Cup for Sweet It Is could cap off a big couple of days for McDonald who also has Keybow entered in the Group 1 Brisbane Cup on Thursday night.

Sweet It Is is not the only headline feature at Wentworth Park on Saturday night with some quality line-ups for the four heats of the Group 3 John Stollery Christmas Gift (520m).

Among those taking part in the heats is Zipping Willow who will jump from box one in the second heat. The Jason Mackay-trained sprinter is in career best form having only tasted defeat once at Wentworth Park this year.

Rue De Kahn (box one), meanwhile, will come off the quick back-up to take part in the first heat where she will go up against Vic Peters Classic winners Lucy Lobster. Rue De Kahn prepared for the heat with an impressive at Gosford on Tuesday.

The third heat, meanwhile, could easily be the most competitive with Queen Esther (box two) going head-to-head with National Sprint champion Chica Destacada (box five) and the Mark Gatt-trained Ritza Hattie (box seven).

The final heat will also be an even affair with Peter Mosman winner Bessy Boo looking to bounce back after some mixed form of late.

First race at Wentworth Park on Saturday night is at 7.30pm, with the first heat of the Christmas Gift race three on the program. The Summer Cup is race eight.
