Lambley's Trio Ones To Watch At Goulburn

By thedogs.com.au

Sydney trainer Stephen Lambley returns to Goulburn today fresh from a winning treble at the SOUTH WEST NSW track last week.

Lambley has Kazmic’s Spirit and Dun Ya Dash competing in heats of the Goulburn To Bulli Sprint Series (440m) this afternoon

Kazmic’s Spirit and Dun Ya Dash, together with kennelmate Piccadilly Sky, helped their western Sydney trainer score a treble at last Tuesday’s rain-soaked Goulburn meeting.

Lambley, who is based at Padstow and often trains his greyhounds in the saltwater and soft sands of Botany Bay, said he would be happy to bring his umbrella again.

“A mate said, ‘you must wish it was this wet every week’. I do - what’s a bit of pneumonia when you get three winners?” Lambley joked.

“My greyhounds are used to training the soft sand, so a wet track like last week really suits them. I’m just a backyard trainer, so days like last week are a dream come true.”

Kazmic’s Spirit and Dun Ya Dash have both drawn box seven for their races, which Lambley is happy with.

Both of Kazmic’s Spirit’s victories so far have come from wide boxes, while Dun Ya Dash looks to have enough pace to cross the field here.

Lambley, who has scored about 500 winners in four decades of training, also has high hopes for returning Kazmic’s Revenge (box seven) in race five (440m).

Promising Kazmic’s Revenge has won three of his seven starts so far, including a terrific 25.14 win here last month.

“He has been absolutely flying (in training),” Lambley said. “If he turns up, I think he will win.

“I love going to Goulburn. It’s a terrific complex and the staff there do a marvellous job.”

In Tuesday’s other action, super NSW country performer Natural Player (box seven) looks the day’s best bet in race nine (440m).

Mark Wilcox’s reliable greyhound has scored a hat-trick of recent victories, extending his career record to 32 wins and 12 placings from 56 starts.

Excavate scored a good win from box four in tricky conditions last week for Goulburn’s Frederick Malone and she looks the top pick in race three (350m).

Dicaprio overcame a terrible start to finish second last week and can go one better in race four (440m).

Kim Mulrine’s greyhound has a poor record from this box but has won twice in four visits to his home track and looks the best here.
