Andy Lord Previews His Runners Across Dapto and Wentworth Park

By Simon Orchard
Check out what Group 1 winning trainer Andy Lord had to say about some of his team ahead of big meetings at Dapto and Wentworth Park over the coming days.

Thursday March 21 @ Dapto

From The East | Race 3, Box 1
My daughter Hayley [Moffitt] is training her and she’s got a fair share in it. She bought the dog from Western Australia and I think she’s only averagely boxed tonight but she can begin. She was getting ready for 500m but she hurt a sesamoid, so those plans went out the window for a few weeks. She’s got this last fifth grade over the 300m so hopefully she gets that tonight and then she steps her up to 500m but she can run, she’s a nice bitch.

Goodbye Mate | Race 5, Box 7
He started off over the shorts and I’ve got no doubt he’ll run 500m. He’s a very quick little dog, probably the only thing against him tonight is he hasn’t been out of the 500m lids, but I did take him to Nowra to give him a post to post and he went very good down there.

I think he needs to lead tonight and if he does that he’ll be hard to beat. If he can't lead, I think your money's confetti but in a couple of weeks time I think you’ll see a handy dog over 500m.

Goodbye Mate has won four of his last five starts over 297m, 350m and 440m.

Big Red Bandit | Race 6, Box 5
I had a couple of little problems with him but he’s a dog with a lot of ability. I think down the track, 600m or 700m might be his go. He’s out for the same mother as Bandit Ned [Bombshell Bandit] and he’s a really good Chaser, not a lot of pace though.

He goes good at Dapto but there’s a bit of pace in the race tonight so hopefully he can get a nice little sit in behind them and if he does, if he’s only a couple off them, he’ll run them down.

Big Red Bandit (4) has a track and trip PB of 29.85 at Dapto over the 520m

Bandit Bluey | Race 7, Box 8 (Best Chance At Dapto)
She’s got a good record. I think she’s won 10/18 or something, she was a semi-finalist in the Million Dollar Chase at start five in her career but like any bitch, when they turn two and have a season and go through all that sort of stuff, they drop their form off a little bit and she’s been a bit in and out.

But I expect her to win tonight. I think she’s on the way back and I still think there’s a very good race in her, she’s a very fast dog.

Sinaloa Girl | Race 12, Box 2
Hayley took her to Goulburn last start and she won there and went 19.70 the start before which is a good run, she’s another one that wants 500. She’s nice and fresh tonight and she’s in a race that’s winnable and I think she’ll be hard to beat.

Sinaloa Girl (pictured with trainer Hayley Moffitt) has failed to miss a cheque in six starts

Friday March 22 @ Wentworth Park

Black Misery | Race 8, Box 7
I think he’s a good bet., he’s been moved up to FFA company, but he’s really only a fourth grade dog but he’s in a non-grade on Friday night and they’ll bet some odds about him and I think he’ll be really hard to beat. He’s boxed where he wants to eb and he’s in a race he can win.  Best Bet Of The Weekend

Saturday March 23 @ Wentworth Park

Omega Travis | Race 4, Box 6
He’s a definite Easter Egg hope. He’s got a lot of pace this dog, I think there’s a 29.3 or 29.4 run in him. He is an Easter Egg dog because he’s got a plenty of toe.

Midnight Spritz | Race 4, Box 7
She had a bit of spell and came back and went 29.5 at Wenty. She has got pace and she’ll go in the Easter Egg as well.

OMEGA JACOB | Race 7, Box 5
A very good dog. When I brought them up from Melbourne, he probably trialled the quickest of the three Omega dogs and he’s going good. I'd like to see him go a little bit better before I decided to put him in the Easter Egg.

OMEGA JACOB owns PB's at Dapto of 29.86 and Wenty Park of 29.63 over the 520m

Nangar Larry | Race 9, Box 6
His last run was alright but obviously when you’ve got Frank’s dog [Good Odds Cobber] sitting up in the one box, and it’s the same again this week, he’s probably two tenths quicker than Larry so if he gets to the front, Larry can’t catch him. But when the boxes are reversed, it’s a different story.

We’re keeping him ticking along to the Easter Egg and when it’s a full field and the boxes are all mixed up, that’s when Larry can show his best. He’s not the fastest dog in the country bit he’s one of the best Chasers in the country so he’s not without a hope.
