In what appears a fairly steady opening event the first reserve SPECIAL ANGEL (9) looks likely to take beating if she can make it into the field and is the on top selection. If the reserve doesn't gain a start the on top pick is for PHOTON JET (3) to defeat DOWNTOWN (7) and JAKEY'S BABY (1) but anything can win without surprising.
