Record Breaking Golden Easter Egg Wagering

By TheDogs News Desk
While the on track performances such as those of Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg winner Tommy Shelby and Association Cup champion Stanley Road were dazzling, Greyhound Racing NSW is delighted to report that the night’s race meeting attracted impressive viewing numbers and record breaking wagering results.

Apart from successful broadcasts on Sky Racing and the accompanying coverage on Sky Racing Active, a showcase coverage of the meeting was also streamed live on thedogs.com.au and the Daily Telegraph websites, with both platforms reporting outstanding viewing figures.
Continuing a trend of wagering confidence in NSW greyhound racing, yet another wagering record was achieved on the night, with exceptionally strong turnover of $5.57 million.

Not only did this maintain superb results of the previous two weeks of the Easter Egg carnival, but the $5.57 million was also a new record for wagering on one of the sport’s premier night’s of racing.

The 2021 turnover was a 32% increase on the last Golden Easter Egg held back in 2019 - the event was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19 - which was at the time a record of $4.21 million, and this year’s turnover is up a staggering 78% on the 2018 Golden Easter Egg turnover of $3.13 million.
