Uncle and Nephew claim double at Gosford

By The Dogs News Desk
It was 'all in the family' at Gosford on Tuesday night when Mark and Blake Moroney claimed a winning double.

Mark has had a long involvement with the industry, commencing his career with kennels at Hornsby Heights in the early 1980's, and has had continued success as a Trainer with the likes of Fire Cape one of his best performers.

His current kennel star is Fire On Ice (Fernando Bale x Tick Away Fire), who scored another dominant victory in the Free-For-All winning by 8.25 lengths in a new PB of 29.27.

That victory took her career record to 37 starts for 13 wins and 15 minor placings and her prize money now exceeds $36,000.

Earlier in the evening, his nephew Blake Moroney, proved that 'the apple never falls far from the tree' when his up and coming sprinter, Ice Reina (Dyna Double One x SeƱorita Ice) scored over the 400m trip in a good 22.23.

Leading all the way from a tough draw, Ice Reina has now won her past 4 starts in succession for the young CESSNOCK mentor after a winning treble at The Gardens in recent weeks.

With her excellent early speed one of her biggest assets at this stage in her career, expect to hear much more of Ice Reina and Blake Moroney in the coming months.
