Bumpy Black Looking to Maintain Perfect Record

By Jeff Collerson

Bumpy Black's flawless Gosford record will be put to the test tomorrow night when the Neil Lyford-trained speedster clashes with box one specialist Morse and last start winner Luchador in the 388m Free-For-All.

Bumpy Black has relegated Laurie's Flyer and Luchador to the minor placings at their past three Gosford 388m duels and will exit box three in a bid to enhance his unblemished record at the Central Coast circuit of six wins from six appearances.

The John Miles-trained Laurie's Flyer is missing tomorrow night but his "camp" will be represented by Morse, prepared by Miles' partner Susan Smith.

Morse, whose record stands at an impressive 35 wins and 20 placings from 75 starts, has the advantage of having box one, from where he has been successful in five of his eight assignments.

Luchador has been forced to collect the minor prizemoney behind Bumpy Black and Laurie's Flyer in each of his three most recent Gosford appearances but is coming off a best of the meeting 400m win at LADBROKES GARDENS on Friday.
