In February, as part of a $1 million boost to prizemoney, Greyhound Racing NSW announced the $130,000 GRNSW Country Challenge.

The GRNSW Country Challenge see events conducted at eight regional venues, with winners advancing to a final, to be held at Wentworth Park.

The regional events carry $10,000 in prizemoney, and in the inaugural year they are raced at Casino (484m), Ladbrokes Gardens (515m), Dubbo (525m), Gunnedah (527m), Nowra (520m), Bathurst (520m), Bbet Park Taree (537m) and Wagga Wagga (525m).

The event will be a Non Grade (any grade) Best 8 + reserves with maidens ineligible. Greyhounds must have had at least two (2) official race starts at the track to be eligible.

The final at Wentworth Park on June 26 will carry $50,000 in prizemoney with $30,000 going to the winner.
