Children under 18 free General Information Wentworth Park is the showpiece of greyhound racing in NSW with first class amenities including a two level grandstand, ensuring that every patron has an uninterrupted view of the entire track from any seat within the stand. Metropolitan racing occurs every Friday and Saturday throughout the entire year. Excellent facilities are available for patrons including a restaurant, bars, kiosks, function rooms, and indoor betting pavilion. The track has a loam surface and a cable lure system is in operation.
The Wentworth Park complex is located on Wentworth Park Road Glebe.
Nominations closing times:
Nominations for both the Friday and Saturday meetings at Wentworth Park will be closing at 12.00 noon on the Tuesday prior. Trainers are advised that even though both meetings close at the same time, the Saturday meeting will be drawn prior to the Friday meeting. Trainers are able to nominate for Saturday and “roll over” to Friday, that is, if greyhounds do not gain a start on Saturday, they can be considered for Friday. Sat - Races - 6.15 to 7.00 pm
The kennel block is air-conditioned, the kennels are of a single tier configuration. There is a veterinary service available at all meetings
Trials With the change to Friday racing the trial times have been amended as follows. (The commencing date for these new arrangements is Tuesday June 29. The first Monday trial session will be July 5).
Monday Nights
Ordinary trials 6.00 to 7.00 pm
Arm trials 7.00 to 8.00 pm
Tuesday Mornings
Ordinary trials 7.30 am to 8.15 am
Arm trials 8.15 am to 9.00 am

Use of Own Skin for Arm Trials
Participants may bring their own skins for arm trials provided that the skins are brought to the track cleaned of all meat and blood. The skin must first be shown to and approved by the trial supervisor. Use of own squeaker may be permitted with prior approval of the trials supervisor. No other arrangements for arm trials will be permitted.
Trials after Race Meetings – Fridays and Saturdays
Trials after the last race are available for trainers who have a dog engaged in the meeting. Please pre book by calling the GBOTA Racing Department (02) 9649 7166 then dial 1 prior to the meeting. Please remember to confirm your booking at the track with the Race Night Office staff early on in the night and purchase your trial ticket. No trials are permitted without a valid ticket. Trials are conducted over 520 and 720m only and are field trials only. |
