GRNSW supports and encourages the establishment of greyhound trialling facilities where possible and is prepared to consider the funding of such establishments.
In the case of TAB and Non-TAB clubs using their own land (i.e. at the race track), establishment costs may be funded under GRNSW’s Capital Development Policy following Board consideration. However, it should be noted that the Board is not bound to approve funding and that any funding will be capped at $10,000.
In the case of a race club identifying suitable available external land for the establishment of a trialling facility, the Board would consider each case on its merits for funding assistance, which would not exceed $15,000. Items to be considered may include, but not necessarily be limited to:
a. Tenure arrangements;
b. Set-up costs; and
c. Ongoing management and maintenance costs.
In the case of a non-race club group / individual identifying suitable available land for the establishment of a trialling facility, the Board would consider each case on its merits for funding assistance, which would not exceed $10,000. Items to be considered may include, but not necessarily be limited to:
a. Status and history of group / individual, including financial sustainability;
b. Tenure arrangements;
c. Set-up costs;
d. Ongoing management and maintenance costs; and
e. Proximity of alternative trial tracks.
Any contribution made by GRNSW will solely be for the purpose of subsidising the establishment of a facility. No contribution will be made to ongoing operational expenses. In the case of a race club, SRWMF funds may be used for ongoing maintenance provided the trialling facility is located on the race track’s land.
