Position Statement on the Establishment of Greyhound Trialing Facilities 1. GRNSW supports the establishment of greyhound trialing facilities where possible and are prepared to consider the funding of such establishment from the GIDF. 2. In the case of TAB clubs using their own land (ie at the race track), establishment costs are to be funded from MVIA allowances. The Board would consider additional GIDF funding up to the value of $10,000 outside of the MVIA, but is not bound to approve. 3. In the case of non-TAB clubs using their own land (ie at the race track), establishment costs are to be funded from MVIA allowances. The Board would consider additional GIDF funding up to the value of $10,000 outside of the MVIA, but is not bound to approve. 4. In the case of a race club identifying suitable available external land for the establishment of a trialing facility, the Board would consider each case on its merits for funding assistance, which would not exceed $15,000. Items to be considered are to include, but not necessarily be limited to: a. Tenure arrangements b. Set-up cost c. Ongoing costs d. Ongoing management e. Ongoing maintenance. 5. In the case of a non-race club group / individual identifying suitable available land for the establishment of a trialing facility, the Board would consider each case on its merits for funding assistance which would not exceed $10,000. Items to be considered are to include, but not necessarily be limited to: a. Status and history of group / individual including financial sustainability b. Tenure arrangements c. Set-up cost d. Ongoing costs e. Ongoing management f. Ongoing maintenance g. Proximity of alternative trial tracks 6. Any contribution made by GRNSW either directly or via the MVIA to be solely for the purpose of subsidizing the establishment of the facility. No contribution will be made to ongoing operational expenses. In the case of a race club, MVIA funds could be used for ongoing maintenance provided the facility is located on the race track’s land.
