Industry Participant Representative on the Board of GRNSW.
The Greyhound Racing Act 2002 establishes Greyhound Racing NSW as an independent body with responsibility for the strategic management and economic development of the greyhound racing industry in NSW, including the registration of greyhound racing clubs, the distribution of moneys received from Tabcorp and the allocation of race dates.
Applications are invited from persons wishing to serve as the industry participant representative on the Board of Greyhound Racing NSW. The appointment is on a part-time basis for a term expiring on 9 February 2012.
The closing date for applications is Friday 5 December 2008.
Applications must be in writing and demonstrate a good knowledge of the greyhound racing industry, and experience consistent with being a representative of owners, trainers, bookmakers or other persons involved with greyhound racing. They should also include the applicant’s full name and address, date of birth and the names of at least two referees. Applicants are required to undergo a probity check.
Please note that under the Act, a person is ineligible for appointment to the position if he/she is:
a person who is, or has been at any time in the year immediately preceding the time of nomination, a member of the committee of a greyhound racing club; or
(b) an employee of a greyhound racing club.
